AIMING FOR LASTING CHANGE
Contribution To The Entertainment Industry
Awards
- In 2021, Yarit was nominated for the Shaker of the Year Award in recognition of her impact on the screen industry, having secured funding to design and deliver a fully funded mentoring programme for intimacy coordinators from underrepresented groups, thereby helping to diversify the community of intimacy professionals in the UK at that time.
- In 2023 Yarit was awarded a Fellow of Rose Bruford College for her contribution to the development and implementation of intimacy direction and intimacy coordination in the UK's entertainment industry.
Amongst the first to establish intimacy practice in professional productions
Yarit started working professionally as an intimacy director in 2018 on Little Voice at Park Theatre followed by Three Sisters (Arrows & Traps Theatre, 2018). In 2019 she was the first Intimacy Director in London's West End credited for Death of A Salesman starring Sharon D. Clarke and Wendell Pierce (same year the role was first credited on Broadway).
In January 2021 Yarit became the first Intimacy Director to work with Rambert Dance Company on numerous dance shows and in 2022 became an Intimacy Consultant for Punchdrunk's Burnt City.

Consultancy, writing guidelines for unions and associations and promoting safer practices
Yarit contributed writing and advised on many UK intimacy guidelines available online for employers as well as performers:
- Directors UK's 'Directing Nudity & Simulated Sex'
- Bectu's Guidance for Shooting Intimacy
- Intimacy chapter in the Creative Industries Safety Passport Course (Bectu & ScreenSkills safety training)
- Stage Directors UK's Intimacy Direction Guidelines
- Equity Intimacy Working Group's guidance for performers and engagers.
- ScreenSkills' Safeguarding Online Module.
- Shakespeare's Globe Higher Education Guidance for Fights & Intimacy.

In August 2020 she helped to establish Bectu Union's Intimacy Coordinators Branch and was elected to chair its first committee. Under her leadership & determination the committee created its first working groups, published a rate card & terms, published Bectu's Guidance for Shooting Intimacy and created the first infrastructure for the Intimacy Coordinators Registry.
In 2022, with the help of One Dance UK, Yarit & Moving body Arts Ltd created a panel for the Dance Industry discussing staging intimacy, violence and autobiographical material.

In 2025 she helped to establish the Equity Intimacy Directors Network and currently sits on their organising/steering group.

Expanding diversity in the intimacy professional community while reducing financial barriers to training

- To support the development of Intimacy Coordination (for screen) in the UK's entertainment industry, in October 2020 Yarit created and taught the first fully funded mentoring scheme for intimacy coordinators from under-represented groups funded by the Film & TV Charity Fund and supported by ScreenSkills & Moving Body Arts.

- In 2023, Yarit's company secured funding from ScreenSkills to fully support two Wales-based practitioners in gaining certification and professional training as intimacy coordinators, contributing to the development of the Welsh speaking screen industry.

- In 2019 Yarit Dor co-founded INTIMASK, the first worldwide modesty garment online shop selling garments in 6 different skin tones and various sizes primarily aimed for Intimacy Coordinators/Directors and Costume Departments. It revolutionised the garments used on set and on stage during intimacy scenes and expanded the range of skin tones and sizes available in the market to help diversity and inclusion.
