Intimacy Coordinator. Fight Director. Intimacy Director. Movement Director 

ABOUT

For Stage, Yarit has been working in live performance since 2006 first as a dancer and dance dramaturge for Hagit Yakira Dance Company and later as a Fight Director and Movement Director.

With the development of intimacy direction she trained with IDI (now IDC) and started working professionally as an intimacy director in 2017 on Three Sisters (Arrows & Traps Theatre). She is a certified BASSC Stage Combat Teacher and a certified IDC intimacy director. Her stage credits include: West End, Shakespeare's Globe, Almeida, Young Vic, Royal Exchange Manchester, Bush Theatre, Storyhouse, Gate Theatre, Boulevard Theatre amongst others. 

 

In 2019 she originated the "Intimacy Director" creative role in London's West End (Death of A Salesman starring Sharon D. Clarke and Wendell Pierce). 

She is an Associate Tutor of RADA, an Ensemble Associate Artist of Shakespeare's Globe and Steering Group member of the Movement Directors Association. 

She is a reoccurring visiting tutor at RADA, Rose Bruford College, East 15 Acting School, Italia Conti, Arts Ed and at the HE department of the Shakespeare's Globe. 

For TV/Film, she is a certified IDC Intimacy Coordinator and one of the leading Intimacy Coordinators in the UK working in this new role since 2019.

Credits include: Adult Material (Channel 4), The Nevers (HBO), Spanish Princess 2 (Starz), Domina (Sky TV), The Wheel Of Time (Amazon), White Lines (Netflix), The Girlfriend Experience 3 (Starz), Starstruck (HBO Max/BBC 1), Cheaters (BBC), Carnival Row 2 (Amazon/Legendary), Close To Me (Channel 4), Bridgerton (cover IC, Netflix), Code 404 (Sky) and more.     

She also teaches at various film schools such as: National Film & TV School, London Film School, Raindance and LSC BA in Film Studies.  

To support the development of this new role in the UK's entertainment industry, Yarit opened the first fully funded mentoring scheme for intimacy coordinators from under-represented groups supported by ScreenSkills and funded by the Film & TV Charity Fund. And in August 2020 she helped to establish Bectu's Intimacy Coordinators Branch which she currently chairs.

- Directors UK's 'Directing Nudity & Simulated Sex' 

- Stage Directors UK's Intimacy Direction Guidelines 

- ISS/Equity Intimacy Working Group's guidance for performers and engagers.  

Her company MOVING BODY ARTS offers choreography & training services to the entertainment industry in UK & EU.
